Ilsan – Like Like (La Festa~, Cafe)

I visited Cafe Like Like (라이크라이크) for brunch with a couple of friends last week. It’s always good to check out what different cafes offer in the way of brunch. They have the usual drink options for a cafe such as a range of coffee and teas. Coffee prices are between 4,000 and 6,000 won. There are also some specialty lattes such as a Green Tea Latte, Sweet Potato Latte or a Sweet Pumpkin Latte all priced at 6,000 won.

It’s located in between Lake Park and La Festa so very local and easy to find. It’s not a huge place but the decor is pretty and modern. It’s a nice place for good weather as the two walls on the street sides are windows that open out to make it a nice semi-outdoor dining experience.

They have an all-day brunch menu with some basic items like Eggs Benedict, BLT and a few different types of panini. We mostly all ordered different items off the menu so we were able to get a sense of what the quality and taste was like across the board. We didn’t try the desserts but they did have some waffles and bingsu options too.

Two of my companions got the brunch plates (12,000 won), one got the Eggs Benedict (13,000 won) and I got the Mozzarella Cheese Panini. For the panini you can choose to get it as a single (8,000 won) or set (12,000 won). You can get most of the menu items in a set with a drink. You can choose between Americano, Grapefruit Juice, Orange Juice, Milk, Cola or Cider.

I was the only one who didn’t get the set with the standard drink as I wanted to get their Berry Ade. I like ades but most of the time they only have citrus ones so when I find something different I have to try it. I have to say that my Berry Ade did look very pretty. They also used a paper straw which is good for the environment however all the other drinks still had plastic ones. The taste of my drink was okay but it perhaps looked a bit better than it actually tasted.

Overall the food was okay but nothing to get excited about. The panini does not look good in the photos because it was using a squid ink bread. I’m not a fan usually but it was the only one with a filling I liked and it definitely tasted better than it looked. Everyone else was happy with their food so all-in-all it was a successful brunch outing.

I would go here again as it was a nice place and it’s quite convenient for me. That being said it wouldn’t be high on my list for food if there were other options available and in that area there are many other cafes and restaurants to choose from.
